Vision
The vision was to create a tool for the hosting and administration of e-mail addresses for the purpose of e-mail marketing. The solution was required to be dynamic and capable of handling a large number of subscribers, each with a large number of e-mail addresses.

The aim was for each e-mail list to contain a dynamic number of subscriber details, e.g. name, gender and age, and all of these details would be used to select appropriate recipients, for mail merge and dispatch of merged e-mails.

Method
In consultation with the customer, we chose to construct the solution in ASP and save the e-mail lists on an MS SQL server. Dispatch and mail merge were also programmed in ASP. Due to the fact that the vision entailed a large number of subscribers, our main focus was performance tuning.

Result
The result of the development project was one of Denmark's most advanced e-mail marketing tools and we continue to improve the solution in line with the increasing interest for marketing via e-mail in Denmark.

A clear, user-friendly administration module provides the individual user of the system with access to advanced selection methods based on information about the subscribers. Using this module, the user can launch an e-mail marketing campaign both quickly and easily. The system contains a separate administration module from which the system administrator can handle users and allocate new rights.
